This week on North of Normal, Amanda McKeen sits down with Dave Harkless, a familiar face to many in the Littleton community and someone whose fingerprints can be found on more of this town than most people probably realize.
Dave shares the winding path that brought him to the North Country, from a painfully shy kid and trained chef to bicycles, business ownership, trail building, and decades of community involvement. He talks about the unexpected loss that changed the course of his life, the beginnings of PRKR MTN Trails, bringing Mount Eustis back to life, and the many ideas that somehow turned into things people still enjoy today.
It’s a conversation about optimism, taking chances, putting one foot in front of the other, and what can happen when someone looks at an idea and thinks, “I could do that.” And beneath it all is Dave’s simple measure of success: he may not be rich by what’s in his wallet, but he has built a very rich life.
