What is North of Normal?
North of Normal is a live radio show and podcast hosted by Amanda McKeen on North Country Community Radio in Littleton, New Hampshire. The show features honest, human-centered conversations with people connected to life in the North Country .
The show airs live Tuesdays from 10am–11am on WZNC-LP 99.9 FM and streams online at nococommunityradio.org. You can listen anytime afterward on Spotify or directly on our Listen page.
Why ‘North of Normal‘?
The name reflects both place and perspective — life in the North Country often moves differently, asks different things of people, and creates stories that don’t always fit neatly into the rest of the world’s expectations. The conversations are intentionally unscripted, slower paced, and grounded in curiosity instead of performance. The goal is not to “interview” people in the traditional sense, but to create space where real connection and understanding can happen.
Meet the Host: Amanda McKeen
Amanda McKeen is the host of North of Normal, as well as the founder of Clear View Advantage, where she works with small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations that care deeply about the people they serve.
From her approach to business, to writing, and to the North of Normal Podcast, all of Amanda’s work is connected and rooted in the same belief:
People deserve systems, conversations, and visibility that feel more honest, grounded, and human.
About Our Guests
Guests come from many walks of life: business owners, artists, nonprofit leaders, volunteers, creatives, tradespeople, educators, community builders, and longtime locals.
The common thread is not status or expertise. It’s humanity.
While many guests are business owners, the show is not focused on marketing, promotion, or entrepreneurship advice. The conversations are about people first — their stories, experiences, challenges, perspectives, and connection to community. The show is not intended to function as advertising or promotion, nor as a platform for political debate or campaigning. Sometimes projects, organizations, or life work naturally come up in conversation, but the focus stays on the person and the story behind what they do.
An important note: North of Normal is invite-only. While third-party recommendations are welcome, direct requests to appear on the show will result in a ‘no’.
